Planet Zoo 2 is available now. Standard includes the base game. Deluxe bundles the base game with the Deluxe Upgrade Pack: six additional species and exclusive animal signs. On Steam, the Deluxe Upgrade Pack and Bonus Content Pack are also listed separately as downloadable content. Which option makes sense depends on whether you already own the base game and which extra animals or decorations you want.
Checked October 19, 2026: These are Steam PC listings, not a promise that the same add-on, price, bundle or entitlement is available on PlayStation, Xbox or in every region. Check the edition and included content in your own platform’s store before paying. Game Field Guide does not publish a live price feed.
Choose by what you already own

I do not own Planet Zoo 2
Choose Standard for the complete base game, including zoo building, aquariums, aviaries, Wildlife Reserves and the modes Frontier lists for the base game. Choose Deluxe only if the six named extra species and animal signs matter to you. The Deluxe Edition is the base game bundled with the Deluxe Upgrade Pack; it is not a separate campaign or an early-access period.
I already own Standard on Steam
The Deluxe Upgrade Pack is a separate Steam DLC listing and requires the base game. Compare its current local price with any Deluxe bundle offer before buying; do not buy another full copy based on an assumed upgrade path. We have not verified a separate upgrade path on PlayStation or Xbox.
I only want the old pre-purchase decorations
The Toucan Eat shop and signage, three animal donation bins and tiger photo stand-in wall were advertised as a pre-purchase bonus. They now have a separate Bonus Content Pack Steam DLC listing that requires the base game. That makes the old statement “only obtainable before launch” inaccurate for Steam PC. Do not assume the pack is included with every post-launch purchase or offered separately on consoles; check the store’s current included-content list.
What exactly is in the Deluxe Upgrade Pack?
Frontier’s current Steam DLC listing names six species:
- Golden Eagle;
- Golden Lion Tamarin;
- Great Hammerhead Shark;
- Axolotl;
- Blue and Gold Fusilier;
- Longfin Batfish.
It also lists exclusive animal signs. If one species is the reason you would pay extra, check the exact name in your platform’s current edition details. Our animals database is a dated Zoopedia snapshot, so use the current store’s entitlement list for a purchase decision. A listed species does not establish its in-game welfare requirements or how enjoyable it is to manage.
Standard, Deluxe, Upgrade and Bonus Pack
- Standard: base game. No Deluxe six-species pack is described as included.
- Deluxe Edition: base game plus Deluxe Upgrade Pack with six extra species and animal signs.
- Deluxe Upgrade Pack on Steam: the same extra content as separate DLC for an owner of the Steam base game; it does not include the base game.
- Bonus Content Pack on Steam: Toucan Eat shop/signage, three donation bins and tiger photo wall as separate DLC; it does not include the base game or Deluxe species.
The original pre-purchase offer and today’s separate Steam DLC listing are different ways the decorative content has been offered. An old screenshot of the pre-purchase checkout cannot establish today’s entitlement. Likewise, the “Add to Cart” listing is evidence of current store availability, not evidence that a player has the pack installed in their account.
Before checkout
- Open the store on the platform where you own, or will buy, the base game. Verify the product title and whether it is a full edition or add-on.
- For Deluxe, confirm all six extra species and animal signs in that store’s current description. Check that you are not paying for a second base-game copy when an upgrade option fits.
- For the decorative pack, confirm the Toucan Eat, donation-bin and photo-wall items are listed as included. Do not rely on the pre-launch offer text.
- Check your own region’s price, taxes, refund policy and any temporary sale at checkout. This page does not recommend a fixed price or claim that an offer persists.
- On PC, compare hardware with our system requirements guide; for platform availability, see the release and platforms guide.
If the store entitlement and your installed content disagree, record the platform, purchase receipt name, DLC ownership state and game build before contacting that platform’s support. Avoid sharing order numbers or account details publicly.
