Is there early access?

The game has been released. Early-access and preload schedules were pre-release questions and no longer affect whether you can play the current store version. Check the current listing for your platform and edition before buying.

Does Planet Zoo 2 support crossplay?

Planet Zoo 2 has no multiplayer, according to Frontier’s official FAQ. Players can share and download parks and blueprints across platforms through the Frontier Workshop; this does not create a shared live zoo session.

The FAQ does not establish cross-save, transferable purchases or a shared Franchise animal market across platform families. Our Workshop and platform guide separates those questions.

What game modes are confirmed?

Frontier currently names three modes:

  • Career mode: join the Fauna and Ecosystems Network and build a global network of zoos and Wildlife Reserves.
  • Franchise mode: manage a connected franchise and trade animals with other players.
  • Sandbox mode: build with fewer constraints and focus on creativity.

The sequel also adds fully aquatic animals, flying animals, customizable aquariums and aviaries, and Wildlife Reserves. Exact balance, limits, and platform performance require independent testing; store descriptions alone do not establish them.

Which languages are supported?

The Steam language table, checked October 30, 2026 (UTC), lists interface and subtitles in 17 languages. Of these, 10 also have full audio: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese and Latin American Spanish.

The other seven — Czech, Danish, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Thai and Traditional Chinese — have interface and subtitle support without a full-audio marker on that listing. These are PC store details; check the corresponding language table on your own platform before buying.

PC features currently listed

The Steam page lists:

  • single-player;
  • Steam achievements;
  • Steam Cloud;
  • HDR;
  • Family Sharing;
  • Denuvo Anti-tamper;
  • in-game purchases and online interactivity.

These are store flags, not a complete technical specification. See our Planet Zoo 2 system requirements guide for the official CPU, GPU, memory, and storage requirements.

Before you buy

Use this quick check:

  1. Confirm that your platform is PC, PS5, or Xbox Series X|S.
  2. If you are on PC, compare your hardware with the official requirements.
  3. Check the Standard versus Deluxe comparison; a historical pre-purchase bonus is separate from Deluxe content.
  4. There is no multiplayer. Check cross-save and purchase-transfer details separately before changing platforms.
  5. Check the current platform store for availability, edition contents and language support.
