Planet Zoo 2 supports cross-platform Workshop sharing, but has no multiplayer. Players can browse and download creations made on other platforms through the Frontier Workshop, according to Frontier’s official FAQ.
Workshop sharing is separate from cross-platform Franchise trading, shared saves and transferable purchases. Those features need their own confirmation.
Choose a task: save a blueprint · upload it · install a creation · fix a missing download or loading problem.
Save, share or install a blueprint
The following routes come from Frontier’s Basics guide, checked October 30, 2026 (UTC). They describe the official workflow; Game Field Guide has not tested the current client or platform-specific menu differences.
Save a local blueprint
- Use Multi-Select to highlight the objects to save, or select a Habitat Barrier. Frontier says a Habitat blueprint includes only objects inside that barrier.
- Choose Save Selection as Blueprint, then + New Blueprint. Enter its name, description and type; add useful tags.
- Frame the camera for the thumbnail and create the blueprint. Find it in the Browser’s Blueprints tab; use the view filter to show your own creations.
Upload a blueprint to the Workshop
- For a new blueprint, use the create-and-upload option during saving. For one already saved, open Workshop from the pause menu or the Browser’s Blueprint tab.
- In My Content, choose the upload option, select your creation and choose Upload as new.
- Complete the required details and confirm the new upload. Use My Uploads to manage what you have shared.
Install another player’s blueprint
- Open Workshop through the pause menu or Browser, then find the creation in Featured, Creators or Browse.
- Select it and choose Install Blueprint. Its details can then be checked in My Installs.
- Return to the game’s Blueprint menu and look in its Frontier Workshop section. If the creation is absent, check the mode and version; if visible but unusable, record the placement or content warning.
Share a whole Sandbox zoo
Frontier documents sharing a zoo saved as a Sandbox level: select the zoo on the Sandbox Hub globe and use its Workshop upload button. Sharing the saved creation does not open a live multiplayer session.
Workshop not loading or a downloaded blueprint missing?
First check your installed build and game mode. Frontier’s October 29 Update 1.0.8 notes list two separate Workshop fixes. Match your symptom before treating a download, navigation or placement problem as the same issue.
The Workshop page will not load or navigate
Frontier lists a Workshop-page navigation fix in 1.0.8. Check whether your client includes that update. If the problem continues, record the page and action that failed; the note does not establish that every loading, search or thumbnail problem is fixed.
A downloaded habitat blueprint is missing in Franchise
Update 1.0.8 specifically lists a fix for downloaded habitat blueprints not appearing in the Franchise browser. Confirm the mode, installed build and which creation you downloaded. If it remains missing, keep the blueprint link or code and a screenshot for Frontier’s Issue Tracker.
The blueprint is visible but cannot be placed
This is different from a missing download. If the game displays a placement or content requirement, record its exact wording and check the creation’s stated dependencies against the content you own. The two 1.0.8 fixes do not establish every research, edition or platform compatibility rule; use the dependency checks below.

What is the Frontier Workshop?
The Frontier Workshop is Planet Zoo 2’s community-content library. Official descriptions say players can explore, download, subscribe to and place player-created blueprints and creations in their zoos. Frontier also describes uploading your own work.
The important change is the phrase “from across platforms.” Planet Zoo 2 was released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, so the Workshop is presented as a shared discovery layer rather than a PC-only Steam Workshop.
Does Planet Zoo 2 have crossplay?
No. Frontier’s official FAQ states that Planet Zoo 2 has no multiplayer.
Online interactivity includes Workshop content and Franchise animal trading. It does not let two players build together in the same zoo.
For this guide, “crossplay” means players on different platform families participating in the same live session. Workshop downloads are asynchronous content sharing, so we do not label them as crossplay.
Is Franchise animal trading cross-platform?
Frontier confirms that Franchise mode lets players build a global network and trade animals with other players. The store description does not say whether the trade market is shared across PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
Without a platform-specific source or test, the confirmed claim is animal trading; a shared market across platforms remains unverified here.
Does Planet Zoo 2 support cross-save?
Cross-save between PC, PlayStation and Xbox has not been announced in the official sources checked for this page.
Steam Cloud is listed for the PC version, but that normally describes synchronization within Steam’s own environment. It does not establish PlayStation-to-Xbox or console-to-PC progress transfer.
Before changing platform, confirm the specific save or progression transfer with Frontier or the destination platform. Workshop sharing alone is not evidence that Career progress, Franchise data, subscriptions or purchases will follow your account.
Will every downloaded blueprint work?
The Workshop itself is confirmed. This guide has not verified all blueprint dependency rules. A creation may use scenery, animals or other content that is not included in every edition or owned on every platform.
If a downloaded creation will not place, keep the download problem separate from a requirement shown by the game:
- Check the creation’s description for stated content dependencies and compare them with the edition and add-ons you own.
- Copy the exact placement or missing-content warning. Do not infer a universal research or platform restriction from one failed creation.
- Keep the creation link or code, platform, installed build, game mode and screenshot with your report. If it never appears in the browser, use the missing-blueprint check first.
Our Standard versus Deluxe guide explains which six animals belong to the Deluxe Upgrade Pack and keeps them separate from the decorative pre-purchase bonus.
What should creators check now?
- Keep an editable local record of complex builds rather than assuming automatic transfer.
- Label any Deluxe dependencies when sharing a build.
- Avoid advertising a blueprint as “works everywhere” until it has been tested on each platform family.
- Distinguish Workshop sharing from Franchise trading and cross-save in titles and descriptions.
- Record the game build and platform when reporting a compatibility problem.
