For most players, the Standard Edition is the better starting choice. It contains the complete base game, including the same maps, factions, roles and multiplayer modes. The Deluxe Edition costs $20 more at the published US list price and adds the 2026 Field Supplies collection of uniform packs.

Choose Deluxe only if you already know you want those cosmetics. Two of its three Field Supplies packs are scheduled to arrive after launch, so the higher price does not mean more launch-day maps, weapons or modes.

What both editions include

Standard and Deluxe include the same base game. The current official Steam description lists:

  • 50-versus-50 multiplayer battles;
  • the US Armed Forces and North Vietnamese Army;
  • six large-scale maps;
  • 17 roles across command, infantry, recon, armour, helicopter and mortar units;
  • Warfare, Offensive and alternative game modes;
  • helicopters, patrol boats and the NVA tunnel system.

The Deluxe listing does not advertise an exclusive gameplay map, role or weapon. Its extra value is the 2026 Field Supplies collection.

What is in 2026 Field Supplies?

The official Xbox and PlayStation listings name three pieces of content:

  1. NVA Boat Crew Uniform
  2. ANZAC & NVA Uniform Pack, scheduled for Q3 2026
  3. Green Berets & Navy SEALs Uniform Pack, scheduled for Q4 2026

These are described as uniforms or uniform packs. The official listings do not describe them as stat boosts, weapons or access to additional multiplayer modes.

The timing matters. Only the NVA Boat Crew Uniform is listed without a later delivery window. The ANZAC & NVA pack and Green Berets & Navy SEALs pack are scheduled for later in 2026. “Q3” means the July-through-September quarter, while “Q4” means October through December; those windows are not exact release dates.

Is the Deluxe Edition worth the extra $20?

The answer depends on how much you value the announced uniforms.

At the published US list prices, Deluxe adds $20 to the $39.99 Standard Edition. That is about a 50% premium over Standard. The base multiplayer game is the same, so the decision is not about gaining access to more launch-day gameplay.

Deluxe may be worth it if:

  • you want all three announced Field Supplies packs;
  • you expect to use the covered NVA, ANZAC, Green Berets or Navy SEALs uniforms;
  • you are comfortable paying now for two packs scheduled for later delivery;
  • the price difference in your region still feels reasonable.

Standard is the safer choice if:

  • you mainly want the complete multiplayer game;
  • you do not care about uniform packs;
  • you want to see the final cosmetics before paying for them;
  • you would rather keep the $20 difference for a later purchase.

Do not assume Deluxe is the “complete gameplay” version. Based on the current official edition tables, Standard already includes the base game.

What is the pre-order bonus?

The official announcement lists a US Army Boat Crew Uniform as the pre-order bonus for both Standard and Deluxe.

That means the pre-order bonus is not a reason to upgrade from Standard to Deluxe. It is tied to ordering before release, not to choosing the higher-priced edition.

Steam currently shows a pre-purchase promotion ending August 13. Store availability, discounts and cutoff times can vary by platform and region, so confirm the offer shown at checkout before ordering.

Does Deluxe include early access?

The current official edition descriptions do not list an early-access period for Deluxe. Both editions use the August 13, 2026 release date.

If a retailer page suggests otherwise, verify the claim against the current platform listing and the publisher’s official news before paying. Edition descriptions can change, and a store countdown is more reliable than an undated third-party comparison.

Which edition should you buy?

Use this simple rule:

  • Buy Standard if your priority is playing Hell Let Loose: Vietnam at the lowest published list price.
  • Buy Deluxe if the three named Field Supplies uniform packs are worth the full regional price difference to you.
  • Wait if you need launch-build performance evidence, final reviews or exact cosmetic previews before deciding.

Waiting is a valid choice. A pre-order uniform is cosmetic content; it does not replace checking performance, server stability and the final state of the game.
